The Tea Tribes and Adivasis of Assam trace their roots to central and eastern India, brought to Assam during the British colonial era to work in tea plantations. Over the decades, they have built their lives here, contributing immensely to Assam’s tea industry, culture, and society. Today, these communities comprise a rich mosaic of traditions, languages, music, art, and social values.
Our mission is to create awareness about their identity, struggles, heritage, and achievements. We aim to:
- Share stories from within the community
- Highlight the cultural and social richness of various tribal groups
- Promote education, health, and development initiatives
- Encourage youth participation and leadership
- Be a voice for the rights and recognition of the Tea Tribes and Adivasis
